Decentralization cannot be ignored

Nepal is a unique country with people of multi cast society, people speaking about 94 different languages. People live different lives, people in Karnali region live difficult life and the ones in kathmandu are privileged. People speaking different ethnical languages are discouraged by not allowing them to use their languages in different governmental sectors. thus the ones speaking ethnical languages has to learn ,write and give exams in nepali language which is not their mother language ,thus they lack the skills in Nepali and they don’t get the success they deserve. The people in rural areas don’t get the education that the ones in cities have, thus they lack in every mechanism of the country. This may lead to frustration and may end up in rebellion. Why can’t we learn from India which is doing well in the concept of decentralization. Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharastra were decentralized on the concept of difference in language and cast. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and others were divided on the basis of regional areas. The people of these states could govern themselves and they decide their future. They have gained a lot in the concept of decentralization. They can use their resources and have the responsibility to govern them. Why can’t Karnali region govern them, use their resources and decide their future? why can’t a Tamang, gurung, madeshis and different ethnical people decide their own future? Why the central government ,which cannot digest decentralization, have the power to decide our future? why a madhesi person, a dalit, a tamang and other ethnical person become General, secretary of states and have stake in the mechanism in the country? Thus the concept of decentralization on the basis of reservation, regional governance, language rights and ethnical rights cannot be ignored, decentralization cannot be ignored.

WHERE IS CHANDRA SURYA (NEPALI FLAG)?

Flag of a nation represent pride ,independence , unity . During the janaandolan -2 where was it hiding.people were carrying nepali congress flag, cpn uml flag ,some were carrying cpn maoist flag ,some sadbawana flag and other parties.chandra surya was not seen .this shows how patriotic and independent we are. Madhesis carry them self as madhesis so they carry flags of the parties and forum attached to madhesis. Others carry maoist flag ,congress flag ,uml flag etc ,this shows how divided we are .first we think we are pahadiya when there is infighting between madhesis and pahadiyas.the same people fight as dalit ,janajati or adibhasi when there is some other outcry .the same people fight with people from different cast or from different places .then again they fight for the right for women.people never stop fighting because again they fight for different parties ,forums etc These may be the reason why we are not carrying nepali patriotism or its sign chandra surya.carrying nepali flag is a gesture that we are one as a nepali and not as madhesis, pahadiya ,dalit, newas and so on.People carry a small union flag and forget the nations flag .this may be the root cause why we are divided.please carry nepali flag.

Stop radicalism and polarization

Now a days radicalism is growing like a wild fire. Polarization is in its new height.
Lets take few examples.so called peoples war fought by the maoist for the independence of people ,different ethnic groups ,constitutional assembly through bullet and barrel of gun.this could have been achieved through peaceful stand off ,marches and rallies. It would have taken time ,it could have been on the brink of loosing ,it may have been lost ,but still that peaceful process would not have divided the country like it is now.this hypocritical thinking of some over ambitious leaders lead to the polarization and radicalism of our country Nepal . Mahatma Gandi ,with his peaceful protests ,rallies and stand off forced British empire to leave India .Martin Luther King ,with his peace ful protest lead to the start of the end of white supremacy and racism in USA .Nelson Mandela ,who could have caused havoc or huge damage during his fight for the Black south African, but he choose the peaceful path,he stopped south Africa from its volatile path to chaos and civil war. Thus ,I hope that our leaders choose the process that respects the democratic process and prevents Nepal from slipping to radicalism ,fascism and polarization in those heights where rescuing would be impossible.

Beware of hypocrites

Hypocrites  are dangerous .Hypocrites like George W. Bush , Osama Bin Laden, ,Musharraf ,Prachanda   are dangerous.

George W Bush is fighting war on terror, but he is the one causing terror in  Iraq. He says to unite in war against terrorism and in other hand he corners the Palestinians and Lebanese ,gives free license to Israrel to kill the Palestinians and Lebanese .he corners and dead locks the road map to peace, forces the people to join Hamas and Hezbollah .He tells “unite against war on terror”. What a hypocrite he is

Osama Bin Laden is another kind of hypocrite, he fight the US , UK ,Australia ,Canada ,
NATO troops as a Jihad. He calls the Muslim community to unite in jihad against the west .recently he gave a statement for the US citizens to convert to Islam. This is a medieval belief that is imposed to this free society , using those beliefs as a tool to attack the west. If he really is a true Islamic then he should help the ones in Iraq through bread not suicide bomb killing the Muslims.

Musharraff Aka Busharaff  is next hypocrite ,he uses the war against terror againt the talibans ,and he thinks the kashmiri militants or Mjahideens as a freedom fighter .there can’t be two names to same groups. In one hand he crushes talibans to gain support to an unpopular regime from the west and in other hand ,he sends the kashmiri militants to fight for a united kashmiri homeland. If kasmiri militants are freedom fighters then talibans are also freedom fighters ,fighting for their home land againt the occupiers.

Prachanda is another kind of hypocrite. He insulted the democratic process. He fought against the government selected by the people ,which is a direct insult to the people .his party killed thousands ,torched  thousands .Now he is saying that the people have won when his party with bloods of people in their hand are in the government after insulting the peoples verdict of democracy. He is a hypocrite .Beware of Prachanda .

Mixed victory

Today Maoist are organizing a victory rally. Is this the victory they wanted when they started the Maoist movement.? They started this movement with many things in mind ,like converting Nepal into one party communist county like north Korea ,china .After 10 years ,Maoist have come long way. they forced constitution assembly for a new Nepal .They forced an interim constitution(sambidan).they have brought changes to the politics of Nepal. During this 10 years period thousands of people killed ,tortured .many became handicaps due to the fighting. Maoist have compromised in converting itself to a parliamentary party. Compressing their agenda from a single communist party into multi party democracy. This can be called a mixed victory, with some defeat in it and some achievements

Be aware of Independent Media

Independent media is important to a democratic system. There are either independent
Media or dependent media. The media ran under the supervision of the dictator regime of a state is dangerous. It provides undemocratic news and justification on the suppressive regime. Independent media is important because it stands for democracy and human rights. It is often criticized due to double standard behavior shown by the media. People use media line to earn money using cheap information. These Medias should be filtered by the public.
Independent Media is mirror of a society .In a system there are good and bad things Media criticizes bad parts of the society and encourages the good ones. Take an example of Aaj Tak and star news, they show news about corruption ,showing the corrupts taking bribes .It shows news on scandals ,murder cases like of Nitish katara ,Jessica Lal. It pressurizes the system and warns not to follow the wrong path. It shows news praising people and encourages others.

During the royal regime in Nepal , independent media was abused .Journalist were bitten, jailed. Despite all these harassments the media line fought and helped in
Restoration of democracy. During the royal regime NTV, Gorkhapatra and Radio Nepal were totally under the government ,so they were just puppets of the government .They should be made independent of any government ,so as to make them democratic.

Media is the backbone of any democratic society .Every democratic system needs media and every media needs a democratic system.

Patience is vital

Nepal faced civil war, some call it revolution. Now a days , Peace talk between the 7 parties government and the rebels(maoist) is in progress. Maoist did arm struggle for a decade with the ruling government .they fought against the government ruled by the parties and by the king.
After the king took the power of the kingdom of Nepal on himself ,the maoist shook hands with the parties in the form of 12 point understanding (barha bunde samajdari). This agreement between the rebels . 7 parties called for jana andolan. Public followed their calls and sparked the jana andolan. the king rule was toppled.

It’s a situation of seize fire in Nepal between both the 7 party government and the maoist.
Peace talk is in progress. Maoist supreme commander Prachanda said in recent interviews that Maoist will not carry arms any further .They will carry their struggle through road andolan. This is a positive sign. Maoist is portraying themselves as a main stream party. sadak  andolan is the sign of maoist converting to a party .

They fought for a decade so the peace talk will be difficult .It may look like being passive .We must realize the complexity of the peace talk and be patient .Patience is vital in the peace talk. Take an example in Sri lanka ,  5 years of random talks and seize fires have  given neither any conclusion nor any road map has been formed.

All talks after war will be complex, so knowing the complexity we must give as long time as required. Patience plays key role in the success of  peace talks .Lack of patience may push the rebels back to war.  Hope it won’t happen.

REVOLUTION IS THE FATHER OF DICTATOR

The above topic is confusing but it is a  fact that revolution gives birth to dictators .
Revolution is achieved through struggle ,following ideologies  of different  kinds. During the struggle of changing those ideologies into reality people need leadership, without whom the journey of struggle for revolution can’t be achieved .the journey for revolution will surely be tough .people may die of hunger, may die from the guns of partisans. During this period a leader (neta) comes for leadership in order to change the values and ideologies into ground reality .People then starts worshiping him as their great leader ,they give him all the power .people starts hailing him.

One day ,revolution comes. Then people need to restart the nation. they need leadership(netrityo) .Then there will be one name in all the peoples mind .that would be the neta of revolution(Lenin, hilter, castro, robesperre, mao). As we all know that people hails him so he has all the power .due to this polarization of power becomes a dictator.

Take different examples .After the French revolution robesperre killed people who disagreed him. He became a tyrant .During Russian revolution Lenin was hailed, but after he got the power the slaughtered people, ambushing the democracy and human rights of people .The most dangerous result of revolution is Adolph  Hitler. He was cunning and ambitious .After the revolution in Germany ,Rights came in power toppling the lefts and he started mass killing .he caused world war 2 , killed millions of jews and jipsies.
Recently Fidel Castro is an  example of hailing one leader during revolution .He suppressed Cubans  for years.

Nepal is in brink of revolution with Pranchanda as the supreme commander. He is hailed by revolutionaries as God like figure. Beware, this may give birth to a dictator or tyrant.
Unnecessary hailing him can make him on the top of the moon and make him feel invincible. He is not a genius or a  mahatma ,so we must stop polarizing the power during the struggle for revolution in Nepal.

Constitution and people

Constitution   assembly election(sambidan saha nirbachan) is an election meant to drive a  nation through new constitution .Constitution   of a nation can be built through  different  ways .It can be formed through parliament ,through elite panel of judges, ministers, diplomats ,  aristocrats, politicians etc .In some country it is made by the royal court ,under the King .It can also be built by the blocks of constitution ion assembly. It has other different ways as well.
In the present context of Nepal, constituent assembly is the strongest way of building a Constititution to drive Nepal in a right track. Constititution assembly is an assembly of people selected by the public ,to make sure that their voices are heard during the formation of a constitution . In my view , Constititution  assembly has great importance in Nepal .In Nepali history ,constitution has been crushed either by king ,so called main stream politicians and the Maoist. After the Constititution assembly election, Nepal will have new Constititution. If this election will be done in a fair and peaceful way, it  will surely bring the feelings of  Nepali people.  The constituent made by the people will have legitimacy ,meaning, sentimental values .No one will  have guts to bent the peoples Constititution  ,and if any one dares if  it may be politician, Maoist ,king ,army ,foreigners will  burn in the blaze of peoples  anger. This wont be a normal Constititution like the ones made by the elites or by the king. Its a peoples Constititution with all the legitimacy in it.
The fares are  that maoist may use its hold in rural areas due to 10 years of war and suppression to influence , to be particular force the people to vote in their favor. this will be the violation of democracy and make the Constititution  assembly loose its legitimacy .It may not reflect the true sentiment of the people. The king may use his power and influence to convince the people ,how important he is to the county .the 7 political parties will surely be in a dog fight during the election. this government is a 7 party government ,and the fighting between them may lead the election to mayhem. This will effect the election, loose the legitimacy ,loose the sentiment of the people .this may give rise to frustration .this will lead Nepal to no where and leave Nepali people  in middle of an  ocean.
Its our right to vote in the sambidan sabha election .It will form the wheels to drive Nepal in its journey .We must make sure that our rights are not violated by any one ,repeat any one .

Nepal may divide!!!

Nepal is a multi ethnic country. It has a long history ,where ethnic groups are living together in peace and harmony. Nowadays ,these groups aredemanding their ethnic rights. Newars ,limbus ,Madhasiya ,gurungs ,tharus, dalits,Brahmins etc are demanding their ethnic rights. Nepal has never been divided in its history like these days. These people, demanding their ethnic rights, are knowingly or unknowingly dividing Nepal. Are these ethnic rights struugle important ?will the divide the country?

Fighting ‘for ethnic groups’ instead of ‘for the nation’ can be harmful. This may bring division among these groups. Take an example in Rwanda ,where the division between hutus and tutsis sparked a mass killing genocide where 8 million tutsis and moderate hutus were killed. India has a history of division between hindus ,Sikhs and muslims, this has sparked riots and mass killings in the past. Pakistan was formed due to divison between hindus and muslims. During partition million of hindus ,muslims and Sikhs were killed. Iraq has been struggling from this problem with fighting between shias, sunnis ans kurds.

Finally in Rwanda hutus and tutsis had to come together in order to rebuild their country. Hindus, muslims and Sikhs had to come togther in India .I am sure that shias ,sunnis and kurds will come together to rebuild iraq.

From these above true examples ,we must learn that Nepal is a multi ethnic country which doesnot need any unnecessary violence due to ethnic rights struggle.

We are of one ethnicity and that is NEPALI.

What is loktantra (Democracy)?

Loktanta is a system that effects directly or indirectly to all the public. Many say loktantra is important ,some say it is not good for poor and underdeveloped country like Nepal .

In my view,I have to say “in my view” because it is loktantra and I can say what I want. This is what people think of loktantra (democracy). This is all rubbish . loktantra means lok ko tantra means “For the people ,By the people,To the people”. That does not means one can do any thing against the law of rule or norms .one should understand that even in USA ,which is considered as a champion in democracy has rules for the people and all the institutions to follow.why don’t we understand that ?

Democracy doesnot mean one can do anything he wants.

Few days ago some maoist were beaten .this sparked into a chakka jam. why don’t they understand that this will effect millions of people? why don’t they understand that this will indirectly effect them. they are also a part of this poor and undeveloped nation. Why all of us don’t be ashamed when the foreign media like BBC ,CNN etc shows documentary of Nepal ,telling her(Nepal) as a poor nation? why don’t we bring all the anger and fury together ,when any one calls Nepal a poor and underdeveloped country? Through this anger we can build this country together and bring it in a right track, But NO We can’t because we come together in destruction and harmful ways but not in construction.

Lok tantra which is a simple word but has lot in it.

“For the people ,by the people , to the people”

but when people consider roits or chakka jam, this is not by the people ,certainly not for the people ,and not to the people.

When king took power on him self ,you should think if it is for the people ,by the people to the people. It is on you to decide .If Girija koirala decides on what to do with constitinal assembly election ,arise this ?

When maoist kills, loots  , kidnapps is it for the people ,by the people ot to the people? decide it .

In my view Loktantra can be answered in these 3 questions.

Simple questions, simple answers ,but tough to follow.
